Coffee and Conversation Date Change 

We invite parents to come for an informal visit with the Principals and Assistant Principals from James Short Memorial School and GW Skene school as an opportunity as partners in public education.  In an effort to establish a School Council we would like to start by gathering parents’ thoughts, ideas and perspectives.  Please join us at James Short Memorial School staff room on Thursday September 25th at 9:00 am.  We will have coffee, tea and snacks available.  

Inform | Modular Classroom Demolition at James School Memorial School  

I am happy to share that the Government of Alberta has approved the demolition of the deteriorating modular classroom at James Short Memorial School as requested as part of the 2024-25 Modular Classroom Program, approved by the Board of Trustees in October 2024.   

This modular is not currently being used by the school and has exceeded its design life. Once the modular is removed the site will be fully remediated to match the surrounding landscape.     

Measures will be taken to ensure the safety of students and staff throughout the process. This includes enclosing the construction area in fencing, scheduling work to avoid disrupting learning, and operating within specific hours according to municipal bylaws. Once we have a confirmed timeline for the demolition and remediation, we will be in touch with further information.
